Evaluation Lesson

For a rider with some experience, the first step to entering one of our programs is to schedule an “Evaluation Lesson.” This private lesson is designed to have one of our instructors assess the individual riding skills of the new student to properly place them in a group according to their riding level.

Riding Lessons

Year-round group lessons include between three and six riders, and continue all year. Riders are placed in groups based on age and ability. Riders must be able to control their horse at a walk or walk and trot to enter a group.

Group Lessons

Private and semi-private lessons are offered as an add-on for riders enrolled in group lessons, with instructor approval and availability.

No, if your child has a boot with a ½ inch-1 inch heel, that covers your ankle, and has a pointed toe they can ride with that boot, tennis shoes are not allowed.

Please come in jeans, leggings, or riding pants. Shorts are not allowed. Please come dressed to accommodate the weather
What’s an Evaluation Ride?
It is an initial first lesson, mandatory for every student wanting to join a group. In this lesson, our instructors educate the student – step by step – on the grooming and tacking up process. Then the student is evaluated riding the horse.
As parents of riders, where are we allowed to go during riding lessons
For the best learning experience, we ask that riders focus on their instructor during lessons and that parents refrain from coaching from the ground or saddle. Riding lessons help build confidence and accountability, and our instructors are trained to guide students effectively.

Parents are welcome to relax in the Kentucky Room, enjoy the patio in nice weather, or explore the farm. Walking or running is permitted on marked roads with permission..
